The market offers fresh nutritious products from within the Central Hastings area such as homegrown produce, honey, maple syrup, Lamb, Beef, Pork, Chicken, Herbs, starter plants, local garlic, perennial plants, baked goods of many kinds, homemade preserves, jams, jellies, and a variety of artisans who offer unique items such as candles, soap, knitted and crocheted products, wood work and much more.

Starting June 27th to September 26th.

Every time you shop at a farmers market you support the local economy and its farmers. You are also helping to safeguard agricultural land for future generations. Shop fresh and shop local when items are in season, get to know who is growing your food.

Our Policy

All products are either home grown, homemade or locally produced by our vendors. We follow all mandatory rules and regulations set by Farmers' Market Ontario as well as the Health and Safety Board. The Government of Ontario declares farmers' markets an essential part of the province's food chain - so whenever possible please check out your local market before going to the grocery store. We encourage our customers to bring their own shopping bags, as we are doing our best to reduce the use of plastic.

Vision

The Central Hastings Community Market will be a vibrant and economically sustainable Farmers' market offering seasonal, fresh, locally grown produce in a manner that supports and increases traffic to the community. The Central Hastings Community Market will be an important ecologically sound social and cultural addition to Central Hastings Community; a place for the local's and tourist to purchase locally produced products and to establish direct connections with the surrounding farming community.

Key Objectives of The Market

To create a place where local farmers can sell their produce and food products.
To create a place where residents of, and visitors can purchase fresh, locally grown and produced foods.
To create a place for the pleasurable gathering of the Central Hastings community to socialize and mingle with local producers and our local farm community.
To create a place that restores the link between farmers and consumers. Farmers can learn what products and food producing practices the local consumers are seeking and consumers can learn more about the seasonality of food production and growing practices of the local farm community.
To enhance local economic viability. A vibrant Farmers' Market will contribute to the image of Central Hastings as a place to stop, shop, and visit.
